We've just shipped the biggest update to Claw Catcher since launch. Every catch now counts towards a brand-new rewards system, we've rebuilt the leaderboard from scratch, and refreshed the site along the way. Here's what's changed and how to get the most out of it.
Catches Now Unlock Rewards
Catching a ball on Claw Catcher has always moved you up the leaderboard. That hasn't changed. What's new is that every ball you catch also counts towards a cosmetics system built around collectable avatars.
Catch enough and you'll unlock new avatars and profile pictures for your account. It sounds like a small addition, but it changes how a session feels. A session isn't just about your catch count anymore. You're working towards something you can keep and show off.
Meet Our New Alien Mascot
Our first set of avatars centres on a new mascot: a small alien who's about to turn up across the whole cosmetics system. Expect to see him holding a claw, waving, dozing off on a plush toy, and in more poses as new sets get added.
Head to the Choose Avatar screen in your account to see which cosmetics you've unlocked so far and which ones are still out of reach.
A Leaderboard Rebuilt From Scratch
The leaderboard has had a proper overhaul. Your rank, your catch count, and your profile picture now sit front and centre, so what you've earned is visible to everyone else playing, not buried behind a name and a number.
Make it into the top three and you'll take a spot on the podium, with your profile picture shown front and centre for the rest of the community to see.
A Fresh Look, Top to Bottom
Alongside the rewards system, we've redesigned the play screen, login, your account pages and more. It's cleaner and faster, and it's built around the new avatars and cosmetics rather than having them bolted onto the old layout.
If you haven't played in a while, it's worth logging back in just to see the difference.
How to Start Collecting
Getting started works the same way it always has:
- Create a free account or log in if you already have one
- Head to play and pick a live machine
- Land a catch and it counts towards both your leaderboard rank and your next cosmetic unlock
- Visit the Choose Avatar screen in your account to set your favourite once it's unlocked
You still get free plays every day with no payment details needed, so there's no cost to start building a collection.
